What Do I Need to Know About My FPPL Card?
Reciprocal Borrowing
Forest Park library cards may be used at most libraries in Illinois including System Wide Automated Network (SWAN) libraries which includes Oak Park Public Library, Berwyn Pubic Library, and River Forest Public Library. When visiting a library outside Forest Park and the SWAN consortium, ask if they are a state-wide reciprocal borrower. (Bring ID and your Forest Park Public Library card as registration may be required on your first visit.)
Order Items Not Available at FPPL
If FPPL does not have the items you are looking for, you can place a hold from another library in our consortium and have it delivered to FPPL. This can be done online through the catalog or app and in-person and over the phone. If we cannot find it in our consortium, we can attempt to find at another library. Email askus@fppl.org for assistance. You’re always welcome to visit other libraries if you want the item quicker.
Library Card Renewal
Cards are valid for three years. Bring a valid photo ID and, if your address has changed, proof of Forest Park residency to renew your card. Outstanding fees/bills need to be paid prior to renewing.
Lost Cards
To protect from your card being misused, please report a lost card immediately. We can replace it for no fee.
Fines & Fees
No fines will be charged for any material that is checked out at the Forest Park Public Library. See details of this program here.

The SWAN Libraries + app lets you access the catalog and your account any time, anywhere. Download the app here.
