What You Need to Know
The FPPL WiFi Hotspot is an easy-to-use, mobile hotspot that keeps your tablet, laptop, and other WiFi-enabled devices connected to the internet. Place a hold in person or by phone at 708-689-6125.
How do I check out the device?
Stop by the Forest Park Public Library to place a hold and check it out. WiFi Hotspots are only able to be picked up at FPPL.
Who can check out this device?
Anyone who has a valid Forest Park Public Library card can check out a hotspot.
How long can I keep it?
You can borrow it for 2 weeks.
Can I reserve a hotspot?
Yes. Hold requests may be placed on hotspots and become available on a first-come/first-served basis like all library materials.
Can I use the hotspot outside of the US?
No, the hotspots only work in the US.
Can I use the hotspot to send/receive text messages?
No. Texting/SMS messaging is not available.
How do I return it?
Hotspots can only be returned at the Patron Services Desk.
How do I renew it?
Hotspots cannot be renewed.
How much does it cost?
Borrowing and using the device is free! Your library account will be charged for damaged or replacement equipment as follows:

- Cord: $5
- Power Supply: $5
- Battery: $5
What information about my internet usage, if any, is tracked by the library or the service provider?
Your internet usage is not tracked by the library. For more information about the service provider, go to Sprint’s Privacy Policy.
Can reciprocal borrowers check out a hotspot?
Hotspots are available only for Forest Park Public Library cardholders. Looking for options? Communities including Chicago and Oak Park offer mobile hotspots to their library cardholders.
