We all know there is a lot of fake news out there.

We all know there is a lot of fake news out there. And (admit it), we have all been sucked into a fake news story. That's why it's important to remind youself on how to spot fake news. This info graphic is from the IFLA - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions

Here are some ways to get to the bottom of the news you read:

✅. Consider the source.
✅ Read beyond the headline.
✅ Check the author.
✅ Are there supporting sources?
✅ Check the date. Is it old?
✅ Is it a joke? (April Fool's Day is coming!)
✅ Check your biases. (We all have them!)
✅ Ask the experts!

Join the Library for Eastern European History You Didn't Learn in School on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 pm.

WWII and Eastern Europe provide challenges as the history of that region leading up to and following WWII is very complicated. Join us as author Donna Urbikas talks us through what is rarely presented in history classes and how regional and nationalistic ideologies influence current political events in eastern Europe, specifically in Poland.
