Empowering Our Community with Digital Skills and Confidence

Are you looking to feel more confident using technology in your daily life? Whether you want to stay connected with family and friends, explore new opportunities online, or feel safer navigating the digital world, our Digital Resilience Training is here to help.

This program is made possible through a partnership between Forest Park Public Library, Growing Community Media, and Wright to Learn, funded by the Cook County Digital Equity Grant.

📱 What’s the Digital Resilience Training?

A free, six-week program designed to help you:

  • Build confidence using digital devices and online tools.
  • Learn practical skills tailored to your interests—whether that’s staying connected, managing online safety, or improving job-related tech skills.
  • Develop strategies to keep learning even as technology changes.

Bonus: Participants will receive a laptop to use during the program—and it’s yours to keep after completing the course!

👥 Who Can Join?

We’re looking for community members who:

  • Want to improve their digital skills, no matter their starting level.
  • Are curious, open to learning, and ready to engage with others.
  • Live in Forest Park or surrounding communities.

Space is limited! We’ll offer two cohorts:

  • Summer 2025 Cohort: Starting in early summer.
  • Fall 2025 Cohort: Starting in early fall.

Each group will have about 10-12 participants, so we can create a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Specific dates will be decided based partly on input from interested participants—so if you’d like to join but you’re not sure whether the schedule will work for you, please still fill out the interest form and we’ll be in touch!

🗓️ What Will You Learn?

While each group will be tailored to the participants’ interests, topics may include:

  • Staying Connected: Using email, video calls, and social media safely.
  • Everyday Tech Confidence: Navigating the internet, managing passwords, and spotting online scams.
  • Job-Ready Digital Skills: Using basic office tools, online job applications, and more.

We aim to match participants with similar goals, so you’ll learn alongside others with shared interests.
