The Library will close at 5 pm on Friday, June 9.

The purpose of this guide is to help you navigate our non-fiction collection to find, discover and/or explore books that might not be immediately visible. That is, there are subjects that can be found in a specific section, but if you are looking for other aspects of such a subject, you will need to look in an alternative location.

For example, if you are looking for case studies, essays, or research on racism, and let’s say you want to explore more specific aspects such as gender, criminal justice, social dynamics and so on as they relate to racism, you will find them in the 300’s section, social sciences. But if you are more interested in dedicated historical aspects, then we will direct you to the history section – 900’s. Or if you are curious about religious aspects of racism, you might find items in the 200’s.

In the entries below you will find selected items, alternative keywords, and locations for you to further explore similar topics. Remember, when in doubt, ask a librarian.
