Wednesday, April 29 May 2020 Update Governor Pritzker has extended the Illinois stay-at-home order through the end of May. To support this effort to keep our community safe, the library building will continue to remain closed at this time. We know that our patrons want to know when the library will reopen, and if we can’t reopen fully, when we will offer pick up of materials? These are questions the Board of Trustees and staff have been talking about regularly. Staff is carefully evaluating what we need to do to ensure Library materials can be circulated in a safe and responsible manner. We are awaiting recommendations from the Institute for Museum and Library Sciences and the CDC, who are conducting a comprehensive study of the virus and library materials. As soon as it is safe and appropriate to begin offering pick up service we will! Please check our website and social media for updates.   Tuesday, March 31 An Update to the Library Closure Due to COVID-19

Dear Forest Park Residents,

FOREST PARK PUBLIC LIBRARY CLOSURE EXTENDED

In an effort to ensure full compliance with Governor Pritzker’s Shelter in Place Order, and to do our part to minimize exposure to COVID -19, the Forest Park Public Library extends the closure of the building until further notice. All previously scheduled programs and activities have been cancelled or rescheduled. As this is a fluid situation, we will be reevaluating as new information becomes available, we will keep our patrons and community members informed as access to our services evolves.
