Our library partners with individual families, local schools and other organizations to offer our youth the opportunity to serve community service hours at the library. Volunteer service can provide the chance to promote responsiibility, the development of essential leadershiip skills and enhance cooperation and social skills. Volunteering can also provide teens the opportunity to accumulate basic job skills and demonstrate accountability.
How to Apply
Interested applicants may come by the library to fill out a form, or access the forms through the links provided on the right. Once a youth volunteer application is processed, applicants will be contacted in a week's time to set up a volunteer shift.
Volunteer Duties
Children ages 10 and older are invited to participate in our youth volunteer program. Our volunteers can be scheduled as needed or for a weekly volunteer slot. Youth volunteer shifts are normally for no longer than three hours at a time. Volunteer tasks may vary but some examples may include:
- Program assistance

- Craft preparation
- Gaming supervision
- Organizational tasks
- Summer Reading Prize Patrolc (reading log check-in)
- Tween/Teen Advisory Board member
